"Lots of passing happening on that Saskatchewan track this afternoon!", was my quote on social media following a wild afternoon of dirt track racing at the Estevan Motor Speedway opener on Saturday afternoon.
3 of the 4 featured IMCA car classes produced hard charging drivers who started near the back and finished in the top 3.
In Street Stocks, Estevan's Chris Hortness started 18th in the feature and finished second to Minot, North Dakota veteran racer, Joren Boyce.
In IMCA Hobby Stock action, while Minot's Brock Beeter and Lampman, Saskatchewan's Leevi Runge were waging dirt track war for the win, Kenmare, North Dakota racer Riese Dignan charged up from 21st position to 3rd place in the feature.
Finally, in the IMCA Modified feature, the top 2 finishers earned their finishes as Williston, North Dakota driver Travis Hagen started in 9th, moving his way up to the winner's spot. Not to be outdone, Estevan native, Tyson Turnbull started in 13th and finished in 2nd place.
