The Canadian-American Outlaw Sprintcar Series (CAOSS) invaded Nodak Speedway as part of Minot, North Dakota's annual Motor Magic weekend. The event is a Labour Day tradition in the Magic City. It was also the final and biggest night of racing on the Sprint Car group's 2018 schedule.
On Sunday evening, the fourth running of the Tyler Fedyk Memorial sprint car race took place with a 12 car field on track. Fedyk, who crewed for his cousin Kyle, died in a tragic accident during Motor Magic at Nodak Speedway in 2010. The memorial race was created by family, friends and the speedway in his honour starting in 2015.
Estevan, Saskatchewan's Kyle Fedyk swept both his heat race plus the $2000-to-win Sprint Car A Main in an emotion victory for the Canadian racer.
Taking advantage of starting on the pole position, Fedyk maintained his front row advantage to capture the checkered flag in the 25 lap feature and roll his 91K sprint car into victory lane.
Minot, North Dakota's Greg Nikitenko advanced 4 spots, starting in sixth position and finishing in second place. Jordan Graham of Grand Forks had similar success, starting in ninth and finishing in fifth place in the feature.
Rounding up the Top 5 were Kyle Fedyk, Greg Nikitenko, Brendan Mullen, Dave Glennon and Jordan Graham.
