Greg Cybulski (May 27, 2015) The 2015 dirt track racing season is still young but one Saskatchewan racer appears to be enjoying where she has been running so far.
Weyburn's Destiny Klym kicked off her season with an impressive run at Estevan Motor Speedway where she won her Heat race and finished an impressive 2nd place out of 23 competing IMCA Hobby Stocks in the Feature. This was her personal best at the fast Southeast Saskatchewan 3/8 mile oval dirt track.
She then backed that up with a respectable Victoria Day weekend performance at Swift Current's Speedy Creek Raceway. Despite struggling in the IMCA Hobby Stock Feature, Klym won her 2nd Heat race of the day and posted the fastest lap times in both of her Heat races.
On Victoria Day, Destiny matched her previous day's feat by posting quickest lap times in one of her Heats and in the IMCA Hobby Stock Feature. This time around, she won another Heat race and found her way to Victory Lane, capturing the checkered flag on the Monday afternoon Feature.
One week later, on May 24, she found her groove again with another Heat win and took her 2nd checkered flag at the Southwest Saskatchewan 1/4 mile dirt bullring.
Early success builds confidence in a racer. When it comes to Destiny Klym, she may very well be in for a season to remember.
