PRAIRIE DIRT CLASSIC UPDATE
Greg Cybulski, WINNIPEG, MB (June 23, 2009) When the green flag flies at Red River Co-op Speedway on Thursday, July 2nd, one of the sprint car teams will be missing. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the #39 sprint car of Richard and Lana Samure has withdrawn from the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. As a result, featured racer Travis Rutz of Langley, BC is unable to participate in the scheduled ASCS CanWest races on Thursday, July 2nd in Winnipeg, Manitoba and on Saturday, July 4th in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
Prairie Dirt would like to thank the Rutz family for their support, especially to Travis for his comments used for the promotional write ups of the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. We wish him continued success in his racing and hopefully he will have the opportunity to be a part of Sprint Car racing on the Canadian prairies at a future event.
The Prairie Dirt Classic weekend is an ASCS CanWest points race series featuring the Sunshine Toyota ASCS CanWest Sprint Car Special at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba and the Prairie Dirt Classic in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
